但是在我的字典裡從來沒有留後路這個概念

我只會往前跌倒
I figured at least this way, I will see what I'm going to hit
不留逃跑的後路直面挑戰才能知道難度多大，會碰上什麼阻礙與難題
Without CONSISTENCY, you will never finish
如果沒有持之以恆，你將一事無成
so do what you feel passionate about take chances don't be afraid to fail
因此把握機會快去做你充滿激情的事情，不要害怕失敗
There is an old IQ test nine dots.
有一個"九點連線"的IQ測試
and you had to draw five lines with the pencil within these nine dots without lifting the pencil

In the acting business you fail all the time

Early on in my career, I auditioned for a part in a broadway musical

but here is the thing

I walked out of there to prepare for the next audition, and the next audition

Last year, I did a play called fences on broadway

But here is the kicker, it was at the court theater
意外的是這齣劇在 The court 劇院上演
It was at the same theater that I failed that first audition 30 years prior
這劇院正是我30年前 第一次試鏡失敗的那家劇院
The point is every graduate here todat has the training and the talent to SUCCEED
重點是今天在坐的所有畢業生都具備邁向成功的訓練和才能
But do you have the guts to fail

how many ghosts are going to be around your bed when your time comes

I just got back from south africa
我剛從南非回來
it's a beautiful country

but there are places there with terrible poverty

and africa is just the tip of the iceberg

the middle east needs your help

Japan needs your help

Now here is my last point about failure

sometimes it's the best way to figure out where you're going

your life will never be a straight path

I began in university as a pre-med student

I took a course called "Cardiac morphogenesis"
我上過一個課程叫做 "Cardiac morphogenesis"
I couldn't read it, I couldn't say it
我讀不懂 也不會唸
I sure couldn't pass it
我肯定這門課一定不會過
So then I decided to go in pre-law then journalism
所以我決定去念法律預科之後是新聞學
and with no academic focus
由於我的專注不在學業上
my grades too off in their own direction
結果忠實地反映在我的成績上
I was a 1.8 GPA
我的成績 GPA(Grade Point Average) 只有1.8
and the university politely suggested that it might be better to take some time off
學校委婉地建議我休學一陣子
I was twenty years old

I was at my lowest point
身處人生最低潮期
And the one day, and i remember the exact day, March 27th 1975

I was helping my mother on a beauty shop

my mother owned a beauty shop on Mount Vernon

and there was an older woman who was considered one of the elders in the town

I didn't know her personally

but I was looking in the mirror

and every time I looked through the mirror

I could see her behind me she was staring at me

everytime I looked at her

she kept giving me these strange looks

so she finally took the dryer off her head and says to sump she said something I will never forget

A spiritual prophecy

She said: "You are going to travel the world"

and in the years that followed

just as that woman prophesied

I have traveled the world

And I have spoken to millions of people through my movies

millions who up until this day couldn't see me

the chances you take

the people you meet

that's what is going to define you

never be discouraged

never hold back

give everything you've got

and when you fall throughout life
